The United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) is a global gathering of world leaders, scientists, businesses, and civil society organizations committed to protecting the ocean and its resources. This year's conference will be held in Nice, France from June 9-13, 2025 and will focus on the theme of "Scaling up ocean action based on science and innovation for the implementation of Goal 14."

About the 2022 UNOC

The ocean covers 70% of the Earth's surface and is home to 80% of all life on the planet. It is our largest ally against climate change, absorbing vast amounts of carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. However, the ocean is in serious trouble. Overfishing, pollution, and climate change are threatening its health and biodiversity.

The 2022 UNOC will bring together world leaders and experts to discuss and develop solutions to protect the ocean. The conference will focus on four main themes:
