The Phoenix Mercury have re-signed three-time WNBA champion Brittney Griner.

Griner averaged 17.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game for the Mercury in 2023.

She was named to the All-WNBA First Team and the All-Defensive First Team.

Sophie Cunningham also had a strong performance for the Mercury, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.

Diana Taurasi added 23 points for the Mercury.

The Mercury improved to 2-1 on the season with the win.
